Mergers & Acquisitions: One-Truth INSIGHT into IT

Acquiring a new company is a great new opportunity. Integrating the companies’ IT infrastructure is often a challenge - OpsAI can give you the knowledge you need to get it right.

A single place to get INSIGHTS into the IT infrastructure

Find gaps and duplicated IT infrastructure

Discover shadow IT

In most cases the integration of new companies and people will go smoothly. More often than not, it is the integration of the IT architecture that presents the challenge.

And IT delays can bring the whole integration program between the two companies to a halt.

Better Integration With Better INSIGHTS

OpsAI is a scanner giving you a complete and truthful picture of the two infrastructures.

OpsAI takes about an hour to install, it works agentless and runs on a Virtual Machine in your network. You will get the result immediately and in real-time. Any change you may make – will be found and registered in a matter of minutes.

Scanning and building information about your infrastructure

Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF)

OpsAI delivers the INSIGHTS and IT Governance Platform, to make the M&A process a success. Through our partners we can offer you a Cloud Adoption Framework consisting of:

  • Cloud Transition Tools

  • Documentation – to ensure your security and compliance

  • Best practice in adopting

This will make sure that your plans, people, processes and technology are aligned.

Why Accurate Knowledge Is Important

Having a complete and truthful picture of the infrastructure you are integrating is paramount in any M&A project.

OpsAI is a dynamic real time assets database over all your IT workloads. OpsAI is also a Governance platform, making rights and responsibilities uniforms across the companies, who merged. OpsAI helps you align the IT Governances.

Our scanner will give you the full knowledge and INSIGHT into your IT infrastructure. We’ll help you identify redundant infrastructure – which will lead to savings.

In most cases OpsAI can also find savings of between 35-40% on your operating costs, and a lot more on your capital expenditure.

In the future you won’t need to tie up capital buying hardware (who is immediately depreciated and badly dimensioned).

Technical Debt – Where Does it Come From?

Technical Debt is inevitable in any IT infrastructure.

  • The business software we buy and install will one day be
un-supported by the company who made it.

  • Servers slow down over time.

  • Firmware inversely offer more performance and output
    of our hardware.

We continually have to make decisions on updates to our hardware and software with new patches and new security.

We make these decisions based on the best available information we have at any given time. Those decision have implications for the future – Good or bad they are the cause of our Technical Debt.

Risk

The lack of actionable knowledge is annoying, but also a risk. You might end up with a lot of Technical Debt, you did not know was an issue when the merger started.

How We Present Risk

Risk is presented in an risk matrix that conveys the current state in an easy understandable and relatable model based on commonly used risk models (TOGAF). The quadrants each represents a state of risk, with the bottom left corner being the lowest and the top right corner being the highest risk. The counters summarize the number of workloads in the specific categories:

  • No Issues Found
The risk on the platform or Operating System are minor and the central system is Cloud-enabled.
  • Few Issues Found
The risk on the platform or Operating System is small and easily manageable, and the central system is Cloud-enabled.
  • Moderate Issues Found
There is risk on the platform or Operating System. If it is left unattended – may cause negative variations. The central system may be cloud-enabled.
  • Serious Issues Found
The risk on the platform or Operating System is serious. Even though the system is based on hypervisors it isn’t fully updated on the OS and/or Patching.
  • Extreme Issues Found
The fundamental system and Operating system are in severe problematic states possibly due to being tied together on the same platform and hardware. Or it’s OS being unsupported.

OpsAI Is Your INSIGHT Gathering Scanner Tool

Classic System Administration collects all relevant information about the IT infrastructure in a CMDB.

OpsAI is an enhanced dynamic version of your CMDB always up to date – automatically updated in real time – including a Governance Platform.

The OpsAI scanner finds all your IT assets and using machine learning and tagging gives you full INSIGHT into your IT infrastructure. The data is continuously updated.
